The present article discusses certain problems usually associated with Bulgarian language teaching, both in the country and abroad. Linguists from the Institute for Bulgarian Language share their experience gained through a variety of initiatives. An emphasis is laid upon the importance of the students and learners’ using research approaches in their assimilation of study material, as well as upon the interaction between teacher and student.

The paper presents results of the Bulgarian sub-team – a part of an international team of students. The team was created for the realization of the net research project “Encyclopedia of notable plane figures: we work by ourselves”. The investigation is carried out using the software products GeoGebra, Geometer’s Sketchpad and Maple. The method of the complex numbers is applied in the proofs. The organization of the net interaction is based on Google Cloud Service.

mushrooms; isothermal drying; mathematical modelEleven kinds of mathematical models were used to obtained moisture data. From obtained results, the semi-theoretical models chosen in this work proved to be quite good to describe the drying behavior of isothermal drying. In the experiment, Modified Henderson and Pabis model was most appropriate for fitting MR − t curve of isothermal drying of hot-air drying, its correlation coefficients is above 0.999; for chi-square is below 0.0075; for root mean square error is below 0.0077.

The paper presents game-like elements suitable for the realization of a gamified e-course and their representation as components in the e-learning environment Moodle. An example of the design of a gamified e-learning course in Moodle is shown. The paper contains comparison charts for the assessment of the course participants. Feedback of the effectiveness of certain aspects of the gamified e-course is collected by a survey.

The article discusses the “Bulgarian cultural and historical heritage under the protection of UNESCO” database, developed in IMI (BAS). The database will be used to integrate new learning content to an e-course – a project still in its development stage. The database has been developed with the aim to give students the opportunity for broader knowledge and understanding of the national cultural heritage. Understanding of history helps develop a sense for the general advancing of society. The project is regarded as a modern teaching strategy, based on the learning approach Understanding by Design, with an emphasis on the interaction between the learner and the learning content.

In combination with the appropriate content, serious games become an important modern-day educational tool, which reflects both the current state of technology and learners’ social profiles. The method helps instructors to motivate student learning, curiosity, creative and logical thought, as well as develop a variety of skills and competencies. Serious educational games aim to cultivate better comprehension strategies, creative thinking, learning-by-doing (production, author-ship), and students’ engagement in their own cognition and learning processes. This mini-symposium on Future Trends in Serious Games for Cultural Heritage will present outcomes of the Serious Education Games as Contemporary Tools for New Educational Applications project, Contract DSD-2/05.04.2017, between the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, activity Introduction of Contemporary Methods in Educating and Fostering Young Talent (PMC №347), other projects in the field and will outline some future trends for cultural heritage game development.

The present paper considers an application of the triangle inequality to integer triangles. Formulae are found for their number in the cases of equilateral, isosceles and scalene triangles. The formulae give opportunities for quick problem solving in regular math classes at school as well as at the level of competitions.

In view of the fact that early diagnosis and appropriate treatment makes it possible to slow down any disease process, it is necessary to include the school in preventive activities, giving a chance to slow down the progression of chronic kidney diseases in children. The literature on the subject finds that chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a growing phenomenon and is not only a medical problem but also a social problem. Therefore, the school, due to its functions, can demonstrate various activities. First and foremost, it should expand educational activities and disseminate the topics related to the role of the kidneys in the human body in the context of preventive activities and practices serving their health. It is also important to take appropriate parenting activities when a student with CKD is to learn in the class. The binding changes in Polish education law obligate the school to undertake coherent and educational-preventive activities, and give the school more autonomy in guiding the education process and organizing psychological and pedagogical assistance to chronically ill pupils. The results of research conducted among students of selected Lublin schools will be presented in this paper, the aim of which was to diagnose the existing state of awareness regarding the symptoms and prevention of kidney diseases and the level of openness to the specific needs of students who experience these diseases.

The development of electronic tests and exercises is part of the didactic test theory. Tests can be successfully applied across all disciplines to determine the entry level, to verify and control the learning contents, and to report outcomes at the end of the training period. The “Hot Potatoes” program offers the opportunity to use several didactic models: JQuiz – JakeCuiz, JCloze – JackClose, CrossJackros, JMix – JayMix, JMatch – JeMech. The use of the program is fully in line with the contemporary understanding of didactic tests for learning purposes. The logical arrangement of the exercises is in compliance with the curriculum and based on the chronological principle. The electronic exercises of the “Hot Potatoes” program are used for revision exercises, homework assignments, error correction, performance comparison and more.

The article is devoted to the role, importance, and use of animated drawings created on computer screens in GeoGebra platform for Mathematics teaching at schools and Universities. The use of this platform introduces a new kind of visibility in Mathematics learning, which entails not only an increased interest to the subject, but also promotes understanding and stronger perception of abstract material. In addition, an opportunity appears to remove computing difficulties, since the calculations are done by the computer. The user becomes a manager of computing and this saves time, but also allows acquiring new competence in useful digital technologies in education. Animated graphics help to realize experiments, to notice new patterns, to suggest solutions of mathematical problems and to illustrate them successfully. All that is of great importance for the formation of the new generation, called upon the development of the Russian digital economy.

The basic idea for software-defined networks (SDN) is the separation of systems that control the network from systems the data plane. This defines a layer of program control and control of the whole network (control layer). The SDN controller manages the entire network, receives instructions and instructions from the application layer and relays them to the network components. The controller retrieves network infrastructure information – a infrastructure layer – and returns it back to the application layer. In this article we will present the basic architecture and features of the Floodlight controller. We test different topologies of the Mininet network simulator, interaction between virtual machines, adding and intercepting OpenFlow flows from the Wireshark network analyzer.
