Summary/Abstract: The article examines certain elements of the concept of literary creating of the image of the Apostle-Evangelist in early Slavic hagiography and hymnography. These elements are called special marker symbols that are repeated in the works in honor of Sts. Cyril and Methodius, St. Nicholas of Myra and St. Vladimir of Kiev. We are talking about the symbolic correlation of the hero with the prophet Moses, the Apostle Paul, the poetization of his “beautiful legs” and comparing him with the “second sun” or “other light”.
