Summary/Abstract: The endeavour of the authors is directed into the presentation of a period in which the Romanian political scene was dominated by the use of public manipulation methods, with dramatic effects for the democracy. It was the post-December period, when the trust of the citizens in the public authority was undermined, being generated mistrust, passivism and potential violent reactions of revolt against the entire political class. The country notes, published by the European Commission in the years of 2005 and 2007, mentioned that, in Romania, there were accentuated the unbalances from the economic sector, there were increased the deficits and the political and moral crisis deepened, although in 2007 Romania entered in the European Union. The first stage of presidency of Traian Băsescu damaged the social peace, which made any governing attempt be received with mistrust, by the society. Crucial moments in the history of the right and, as well, left formations were start in.
