Summary/Abstract: The Aristotelian unity of time, place and action in work-related issues is radically changed. The implementation of the new technologies opens at least two ways in approaching the labour relationship: one that is focused on ‘self-employment’ and another that emphasises labour’s social component, including, among other components, the professional status. Portable rights, the gig economy, atypical forms of organizing the working time and its flexibility are yet other effects of the implementation of new technologies. The pandemic accelerated all these preexisting changes and made the European Parliament adopt the resolution of 21 January 2021 with recommendations to the Commission on the right to disconnect.
