Summary/Abstract: Over the last two decades, culinary (or kitchen) literature has increasingly grown to occupy space on bookstore shelves and in media, therefore provoking the individual imagination, for, as we know, what we eat defines and reflects the geographical and cultural specificity of the space we live in. From the 19th century to the present day, Romanian culinary literature has consisted in several milestone works, written by Kogălniceanu and Negruzzi, Al. O. Teodoreanu, Constantin Bacalbaşa, Radu Anton Roman, Petrişor Tănase, Marius Cristian and others. Out of all these, our attention focuses in this paper on the latest work (2017) of Marius Cristian, 100 Romanian recipes for the 100 years since the Great Union, in which the storyteller’s spirit, the fine sense of humor, the pleasure of reading and the details, all offer literary valences to this gastronomic text.
