Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to offer the current insights focused on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the media and media production. Furthermore, the paper attempts to contribute towards the discussion about the media, which nowadays stand on the verge of various changes. Predominantly, three areas are explored – the interest of media from the standpoint of media consumers, spectators’ preferences in relation to the media contents, and the change concerning advertisers. The media market upheaval and changes in the field of media production arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic are discussed in the contextual relation to the so-called black swan theory.
