Summary/Abstract: Countries where governed by democracy, certain rights have been given to the people in the making of laws in the legislative body, which consists of elected by the people. The first of these rights is the referendum. In this context, the laws prepared by the parliament are submitted to the referendum and either accepted or rejected by the public. In fact, referendums are among the sine qua non of democracies. Seven referendums have been held since 1961 in Turkey, which is governed by democracy. Five times referendum was applied to amend some articles of the 1982 Constitution, which was prepared especially after the 1980 Military Coup. The purpose of preparing the study titled "Referendums held in Turkey and their reflections in Ağrı" is to give general information about the referendums held in 1961, 1982, 1987, 1988, 2007, 2010 and 2017 and to reveal their results in Ağrı province. With this article, it is intended to contribute to scientists working in the field of referendum and to eliminate some scientific deficiencies in the field. This study was created by using the data of Turkish Statistical Institute (TSI), local newspapers published in Ağrı and copyrighted works. The article named “Referendums in Turkey and Their Reflections in Ağrı” is a qualitative study; The document analysis technique was used in the article.
