Summary/Abstract: Until 1954, with the transformation of Adapazari, a district of Kocaeli, as a province called Sakarya, there had been changes in many areas. One of the fields where said changes can be observed most evidently is politics. In this sense, reflections of 1957 elections on Sakarya and affiliated developments are examined in detail. The purpose of this study is to examine the general preelection conditions in Sakarya due to 1957 General Parliamentary Elections which are of great importance in terms of Turkish Political History, propaganda works conducted during campaign periods, election results, developments taking place throughout this process, and activities of members of parliament of this province at TBMM in detail. In line with this purpose, it is aimed to determine in which environment the 1957 elections were held in Sakarya during DP period when democracy in Turkey shown serious developments, and its place in the history of democracy. In addition, it has been revealed how the election works transformed into a political fight among political parties from the perspective of local press throughout the elections while attempting to clarify the works of Sakarya’s members of parliament at TBMM after this process within the scope of concepts of society and democracy. The article titled “Reflections of 1957 General Parliamentary Elections on Sakarya and Sakarya Deputies” has been prepared by using relevant research and review works, particularly newspapers published in Sakarya, documents obtained from Turkish Presidency Republic Archives and TBMM Parliament minutes. This study is a qualitative study, and the data were obtained by using document analysis technique.
