Summary/Abstract: Introduction: By introducing a school nurse into primary schools, we would have a unique opportunity to influence the next generation, taking care of their health. The school nurse is currently trying to push into the valid legislation in Slovakia and to motivate pupils of health care parents again. Our work aimed to point out the need for a school nurse in the implementation of disease prevention and health care for primary school students. Methodology: In the empirical part of the work, we used a non-standardized questionnaire of our design. We wanted to find out the teachers' teachers and attitudes to the attitudes of a school nurse in primary school. The questionnaire was attended by 60 parents and 71 teachers not only from eastern Slovakia but also from other cities. Results: The results of the research found that parents are statistically significantly more interested in the presence of school nurses in schools compared to tutors and also parents are more aware of the need for school nurses in schools compared to tutors. Conclusion: Children´s health is one of the highest priorities, not only for the parents themselves but also for the state and the entire social and health care system. Elementary school is a specific community essential for a child´s healthy development, so it is necessary to implement a school nurse in schools.
