Summary/Abstract: The problem addressed by this research is the relationship between the quality of established close relationships (attachment to parents and friends) and emotional problems in students. . The quality of relationships with parents and friends can be one of the factors of good or bad emotional adjustment in students, and thus lead to more serious emotional problems. The sample included 293 students - 180 (61%) female students and 113 (39%) male students from the University of Tuzla. The following instruments were used in the paper: Abbreviated version of the Inventory of Experiences in Close Relationships (Kamenov and Jelić, 2003), Questionnaire of dimensional approach to personality pathology (DAPP-BQ Livesley & Jackson, 2009; abbreviated version according to Tomić-Selimović, 2013), Spielberger’s questionnaire for self-assessment (STAI Spielberger Stait Trait Anxiety Inventory, 1999), Student Adaptation Scales to Student Questionnaire (SACQ, Baker, & Siryk, 1984), Sociodemographic Questionnaire. There were no significant symptoms of emotional dysregulation and anxiety in the students, and differences related to the gender of the respondents were observed on some subscales. Based on the presented analysis of the obtained results, it can be concluded that the students have a secure attachment to both parents and friends. However, differences between students according to objects of attachment were recorded. The most efficient model was the regression solution for the score prediction model on the dimension of emotional dysregulation, where about 45% of the variance was explained.
