Summary/Abstract: According to the assumptions of the EASI model, people use the emotional expressions of others as a source of information to understand social situations. These processes play an important role in interpreting and navigating social life. Thus, the EASI model identifies two distinct processes by which emotional expressions influence behavior at the interpersonal level: emotional reactions and inference processes. Emotions are basically relational processes, they are not only about individual inner experiences, but also about fundamental social signs that influence individual behavior and relationship dynamics. People are often unaware that their inner feelings are manifested on their faces, in their tone of voice, in their body posture or in their choice of words. They may consciously or unconsciously share their emotional experiences with others or intentionally express emotions to influence others. That is why modern approaches consider emotions as a relevant factor in the social transmission of information. Thus, the EASI model provides a framework for understanding how emotions shape social interactions, contributing to improving cooperation and reducing conflict by increasing emotional intelligence and, thus, creating a more favorable environment for all. The aim of this paper is to provide an overview of contemporary empirical and theoretical works that more closely explain emotions as a relevant factor of social influence.
