Summary/Abstract: In the general framework of economic and political integration in the European Union, creating and developing a new supranational level of government, at the EU level, raises the question of redefining the role of national governments. In this context, in this paper we provided an analysis of the current state and the trends in fiscal decentralization in European Union member states, by studying the structure and evolution of fiscal relations across levels of government.
