Summary/Abstract: The present paper has as a declared purpose to realize a conceptual construct of the concept of Business Intelligence. To help aiming this purpose we used firstly a theoretical – conceptual approach of the term, and secondly – we tried to delimitate a few other concepts that are, often, related or confused with Business Intelligence. Although the concepts choosen – Economical Espionage, Technological Surveillance and Competitive Intelligence, didn't offer an exhaustive presentation of the possible delimiations with Business Intelligence, offered a general view of what is or isn't BI. We not only presented the concepts, but we also tried to highlight the differences or similarities between them. Such approach is usefull for the scientific environment – a good elucidation of concepts leads to a good use of them, and also for the practicioners’ environment a good elucidation of concepts leads to a better implementation of them in the daily life of enterprises.
