The first part presents aspects regarding Yurtsever's family, the environment in which he was formed, the education he received and the way he became part of the Tatar National Movement. The period in which he was convicted by the Communist courts and the issue of his collaboration with the Securitate are discussed in the second part. The article tried to explain the context in which Mehmet H. Vani signed a commitment with the Securitate and analyzed the value of the information he provided. The main conclusion is that Mehmet H. Vani Yurtsever had to sign a commitment to cooperate with the Securitate because of the pressures he was subjected to and that the briefing notes he provided were not very important.
