Summary/Abstract: The article describes the life of Manastur people in older days, but also their place of burial, respectively the cemetery that was organized around the church of the Assumption. In the cemetery on the hill, which surrounds the Church of the Assumption, more than 4,000 souls sleep their eternal sleep. Most of them are simple people, about whom we have no historical data, as well as the priests, many priests, about whom we have precarious data. Then come the personalities and people of culture. Many of those who once lived in the old Mănăştur (today a district of Cluj) sleep their eternal sleep on the hill, near the Church of the Assumption. The traces of their passage through the world are their deeds and the stone or marble crosses on the graves, or the funny events that the collective memory has retained, because the people of Mănăştur are people with a sense of humor. They are, and always were, hardworking, enterprising people, and lived in peace with all the coexisting nationalities, aware that they all have merit on earth.
