Summary/Abstract: The present contribution is based on unpublished documents of Gorj Country Archives, the territorial branch of the National Archives of Romania, and investigates the settlement of refugee teachers from North-Eastern Transylvania, a large territory yielded by Romania under duress by the Second Vienna Dictate on 1940 August, 30eth, to Hungary ruled by Regent Horthy. Then, Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy imposed Romania to yield a territory of Romanian majority, whose representatives democratically had voted for the unification with the Romanian Kingdom at the Great National Assembly of Alba-Iulia, on December 1st, 1918.
