Summary/Abstract: Both the 2008 global economic crisis and the crisis caused by the COVID 19 pandemic have had a significant impact on the domestic economy and society. The aim of the analysis is to explore the extent to which the impact of the two crises was similar in Hungary, through the evolution of the proportion of registered jobseekers and the number of tourism nights spent in commercial accommodation establishments. The study examines the main trends at the national level, by legal status of settlements, as well as at the settlement level, and by tourism region. The authors also seek to answer the question of how the two crises have influenced the evolution of territorial disparities in Hungary.
