Summary/Abstract: Teaching in an online learning environment in the world has been realized as a regular or substitute form of teaching for more than a decade and has been the subject of scientific research in the field of didactics, pedagogy and specific methodologies for many years. Teaching in the online learning environment has been used, over the past few years, as a substitute for the regular teaching process and in the Bosnia and Herzegovina educational context, in the form of so-called "online week". However, the virus-induced pandemic interrupted the regular teaching process and moved it from the natural environment - the classroom to the virtual world and posed great challenges to teachers, students and parents. The empirical research aims to explore the possibilities of online teaching, as a contemporary form of teaching and learning, and to analyze the way of teaching in an online learning environment in Canton Sarajevo. By questioning the planning, implementation and evaluation of the teaching of Fine Arts in BiH primary and secondary schools, we want to map the benefits and challenges faced by both teachers and students in educational work. We also want to determine whether inexperience and ignorance of the basic principles of teaching in an online learning environment hindered, slowed and / or prevented the planning, implementation and evaluation of Fine Arts classes, and what consequences it had on students' motivation, activity and learning outcomes. The results obtained from the research are important for creating guidelines, but also for designing lifelong professional teacher training programs in order to improve the quality of Visual Arts teaching in an online learning environment.
