Possibilities and barriers in the functional-spatial transformations of Piotrówek village – case study

Summary/Abstract: The study shows the results of research in the village of Piotrówek, conducted for the purpose of estimating the possibilities and barriers in its functional-spatial transformations. Research involved the evaluation of the village with regard to revalorization, especially of the palace and park complex located there. The currently devastated neoclassical palace along with adjacent, partially inhabited buildings was adapted in project designs for an entirely new purpose, taking into account the possibilities for developing rural tourism, recreation, as well as didactic and commercial services. The design acknowledged the revalorization of selected cubature objects, the revitalization of the park landscape, the modernization of the communication system, the introduction of landscape architecture elements.
