The Macedonian folk epic depicts Marko’s birth, the coming of the fortune-tellers to determine his destiny, his childhood, youth, many combats with various foes of the people, relationships with supernatural creatures (combats with various beasts, being an adopted brother to faries) etc. His relations to the members of the family (his father, mother, wife, brother, sister, etc.), as well as the relations to other persons with whom he deliberately or accidently contacts are depicted. King Marko is also depicted as the one who supports building churches and monastires and as a protector of the Christianity who severely punishes the ones that try to alter the beliefs of the Christians.
