Summary/Abstract: The education of the young generation had an important role in the Romania’s modernization process, at the end of the XIX Century and the beginning of the XX Century. From this point of view, an important concern of the teachers has had the formation of an economic thought, by setting the houses of school economy. They were constituted by The Law of Economy House and their actvity intensifed during Spiru Haret’s mandate. Spiru Haret was convinced by the important role of education in the Romanians emancipation and he paid a special attention in the theoretical and practical education of students. This study presents the Bacau’s teachers involvement in a valuable and efficient extracurricular activity through organization and good function of the school economy houses from primary schools, the promotion of a civilized lifestyle and the conviction of the students, parents and community importance of this initiative.
