Summary/Abstract: Creativity and emotions of students in university teaching, as two key phenomena, are increasingly occupying the attention of modern researchers. Therefore, the aim of this research is to establish by self-assessment of students in teacher education studies to what extent there is a connection between their creativity and emotions in university music teaching. In a sample of 183 students from four university centers in Bosnia and Herzegovina, research findings indicate that there are certain differences in self-assessment of emotions, creativity, and preferences about music genres according to their place of study. Cognitive animation of music and greater enjoyment is accompanied by a higher level of musical creativity. The strongest predictor of musical creativity is pop music, while preferences associated with newly composed music are excluded. Based on what was said, the authors recommend creating a program of teaching music culture that will be methodically aimed at promoting pleasant emotions and with the aim of encouraging creativity.
