Summary/Abstract: This paper points out the importance of developing love for music in elementary school and adolescent age, specifically, the necessity to motivate children and youth to listen to music genres of good quality, primarily for active listening to art music. An example of a teaching unit is given: Beethoven’s Ludwig van Beethoven (1770–1827) Ode to Joy in the form of an educational workshop in Music education titled “Play the Xylophone and Experience the Beauty of Art Music”.
