Summary/Abstract: Death and the existence of life after death have been some of the important issues that have occupied the mind of man since his existence. The soul of everyone who completes his life on earth leaves his body and migrates from his temporary life to eternal life. Each civilization's attitude towards death and life after death has been different. The belief system and religion are the main factors that direct this attitude. Societies' perspectives on death, confrontation, after-death ceremonies, visits, and the meanings they attribute to death change over time but are mainly shaped by religion and traditions. Although death has different meanings and consequences, sometimes precautions were taken to prevent it, sometimes it was perceived as reunion or salvation, and even various efforts were made for immortality. In this article, the concept of death and post-death rituals, which humanity has been curious about, trying to make sense of and even afraid of since its existence, are examined in a historical process. While dealing with the concept of death; Firstly, an analysis was made within the framework of religious and social traditions, and a result was reached by comparing the relevant literature with today's traditions.
