Summary/Abstract: The author is of the opinion that the political system of the regime in Bulgaria in the period from September 9, 1944 to the end of 1947 was of the same type with that of the next period and that no radical differences existed between the two regimes. The Stalinist model of socialism began to be established in Bulgaria in the autumn of 1947 but this process was still very limited and contradictory. The real turning point in this respect occurred in the summer of 1948 and the process developed with growing intensity up to the spring of 1951. The peasant disturbances that took place at that time led to some interesting changes in the political situation in the country which have so far not been noted. These changes were of a contradictory character: on the one hand they led to the tightening of the regime and to intensifying repression, on the other, however, were present a number of elements of liberalization.
