Summary/Abstract: The media-mediated communication of the war conflict in the online era differs significantly from its predecessor in the offline world. The war itself has become a permanent topic of media interest even in times of peace. Firstly, in the form of hybrid wars, but also in the form of war (pseudo)journalism in areas where the conflict of conventional weapons has flared up. The study focuses on this paradigmatic change in the nature of war journalism over the last hundred years, during which the commodification of media-attractive topics has spread to the commodities of war and peace. Therefore, the confrontation of the information needs of society and the excessive emotionalization of war topics for commercial reasons comes to the forefront of media-mediated communication.
