Summary/Abstract: The novel Le Bonheur dans le crime raises our interest from multiple points of view. Applying the Psychoanalytical grids of Freud, Jung and Lacan, and using the investigation methods and the narratological approach, our analysis has a twofold objective: on the one hand, failing to transmit filliation, breaking the intergenerational bonds, collapsing the spiritual and affective values of the Dutilleuls, all victims and executioners, willingly or not, and on the other hand, the impossibility to shape the offspring’s identity in a ‘normal’ societal environment and family alliance for the four children: the incestuous couple in search of the androginous completedness, Clément and Emma, the choleric Delphine, and Hyppolite , the youngest, victim of his sisters’ frustrations. We are faced with an intertextual dialogue piece of fiction, with a skillful narrator, who carefully doses his account, masterfully managing the increasing dramatic tension towards the tragic denouement.
