Summary/Abstract: Freedom is that state of the individual in which he is not affected by constraints and in which he can choose without external influence, that is, he can do what he wants. Although we would be tempted to believe that both Spinoza and Descartes have a common vision of freedom and free will, since they both have the same starting point: they both accept the identity between the free will and the knowledge of God. But unlike Descartes, Spinoza is tempted to grant the primacy of knowledge.
