Summary/Abstract: Since the beginning of the 1990s. in Poland the fall in fertility and the increase in the average of life expectancy have put the question how far these processes are interrelated and whether their process is similar by voivodeships. The purpose of the article is the analysis of the links between the dynamics of changes in the fertility rate and the percentage of people by groups aged 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, and 80 years and more, which is conducted separately for each voivodeship. Multiple linear regression was used in the article. It was found that over time the dynamics of fertility changes coincided with the rate of changes of people in the groups aged 65-69, 70-74, 75-79. In most voivodeships we noted a similar trend, but in central-western part of Poland it was much stronger than in central and north-western.
