Summary/Abstract: The article presents an analysis of fertility by region in Poland, described by the total fertility rate and the pattern of fertility. The aim of the analysis is to distinguish regions showing similar features in terms of fertility. The article describes many determinants of regional differences in fertility, giving special attention to the situation on the labour market (unemployment). A linear multiple regression model is used to define the characteristic features of unemployment that contribute in an essential way to regional differences in fertility.
