Against the Bogomils from the Panoplia Dogmatica by Euthymius Zigabenos – Some Remarks on the Slavic Translation and Copy

Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the only one known by now Slavic copy of the polemic treatise Against the bogomils, the 27th (or 23rd in the Slavic translation) chapter of the Dogmatic Panoply by Euthymius Zigabenos (12th century.). The history of the literary monument and its Slavic translation, together with contemporary state of knowledge, as well as its literary values, including the plot, linguistic and stylistic features are discussed. The commentary is accompanied by a text edition, a new one after the M. Popruzhenko’s from 1899, presenting the Against the bogomils from the collection of the Odessa National Scientific Library (ms 1/108), dating back to the 15th century.
