Summary/Abstract: The focus of our research is the realized pragmatic potential of the tokens “success” and “I succeed” in the Bulgarian and Russian languages, in which, as expected, there are many coincidences in the verbal formulas containing “success” as life value and linguistic and cultural phenomenon. Although it is not included in the core 10 tokens that characterize the linguistic consciousness of the Slavs, according to the Slavic Associative Dictionary (2004) and “Bulgarian norms of verbal associations” (1984), “success” is directly related to each of them. In this article we analyze the data of the mentioned associative dictionaries, as well as rich etymological information to explain why the phrase “I succeed successfully” is so often used in Bulgarian today.
