Summary/Abstract: Philosophy of language, broadly speaking, requires a rational research on the nature, origin and use of language. As it appears today, these problems are addressed essentially in two ways: the way we relate to the language (pragmatics) and the relationship between the language and the world (semantics). These ways of understanding the language arise with a change of emphasis in the history of thought, namely the paradigm shift from the paradigm of knowledge to the paradigm of language, through what is known as “the linguistic turn.” This turn was made in two traditions, somewhat different, namely: the hermeneutics and analytical philosophy. How it made the transition from knowledge to the language issue is the subject of this study.
