Summary/Abstract: The political life of Dobrudja resumed, after the First World War, within the limits of the the Romanian democracy, with its advantages and shortcomings, marked by the restructuring of the multi-party system, as a result of the organization of the first elections based on universal vote. There were also specific elements resulting from the complex problems of this region. In Dobrudja, both the Right and the Left found a favorable field of manifestation. Communism found few adherents among the Romanians, but more among the Bulgarian minority. The right exploited the numerous discontents and disappointments, especially of the Macedonian-Romanian settlers, their ardent nationalism and the sincere wishes of some categories of Romanians to pursue a deeply nationalistic and corruption-free policy. The analysis of the political life of Dobrudja reveals that the region was of special interest to most of the leaders of political parties and organizations. The majority of them visited Dobrudja several times, concerned with the establishment of organizations, the attraction of new members and sympathizers, the propagation of the doctrine and the general and electoral programs that also included points aimed at solving some local and regional problems.
