Summary/Abstract: The article describes the transformation of legal thinking in the transition from liberalism to collectivism, respectively transition from the minimal state to welfare state, on the example of the development of legal regulation of collective agreements in the interwar Czechoslovak Republic. These changes affected alike jurisprudence, legal science and legislation, but it was ultimately the legislation that had to answer the questions that both theory and practice were reluctant to resolve.
