Summary/Abstract: Slavenobolgarskiy predruchniy poslatelnik za nastavleniе na bolgarskite yunoshi (1835) by the prominent Revival pedagogues Neofit Bozveli and Emanuil Vaskidovich is one of the first two published Modern Bulgarian manuals and textbooks on letter writing in the history of the Bulgarian didactic literature. Following the inherited classical structure of epistolary manuals that consists of a definition, purpose, classification, arrangement of the constituent parts and stylistic guidelines, this book provides examples of letter writing models, along with details on the theory of epistolary style. The article studies the unique system of practical advice and theoretical guidelines proposed by the authors, concerning the composition of well-worded and grammatically correct letters, on the one hand, and their composition and shaping in accordance with the existing formal rules, on the other. The subject of interpretation is Bozveli and Vaskidovich’s views regarding letter structure, components and requisites, and the appropriate etiquette expressions matching the relevant requisites and the type of letter.
