TEACHING TRANSLATION IN THE TECHNOLOGICAL AGE: SOME CHALLENGES

Summary/Abstract: This study aims at presenting some difficulties related to the use of machine translation and computer-assisted translation tools in the training programme of future translators. First, a short synthesis of the theoretical considerations around the concepts of translation, translation studies and translation skills will be made, with an emphasis on their evolution over time. Then, we will try to underline the role of technology in the professional activity of the translator but also in the formation of translation competence.
