Summary/Abstract: The paper aims at highlighting the content of what is called intergen-erational justice that is the justice between the current and upcom-ing generations. Precisely it aims at answering questions as whether do we owe something to future generations? In case of positive answer what do we owe? What justifies the relation between generations? In order to accom-plish this objective the paper examines the main theories and principles of intergenerational justice. The whole paper is divided into several parts. In the one which is now published the optimistic and the skeptic positions with regard to the existence of intergenerational justice will be scrutinized. Then, we go on to problematize the distinc-tion between intergenerational and intragenerational justice.
