Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study is to define the importance of social media in the marketing activities of tourist facilities in Karpacz. The use of social media for marketing purposes by enterprises operating in the tourism industry gives the opportunity to gain a significant competitive advantage. The information contained in the article is secondary data obtained from the most important social networking sites, data by Polish Internet Research and reports from IAB Polska. Hotel facilities fighting to distinguish their offer from the competition use interactive channels, mainly from social networks. The conducted research shows a great importance in the marketing activity of Facebook and Instagram, less often Youtube and Twitter. Only the largest facilities implement an integrated strategy using several social networking sites.
