Summary/Abstract: The article considers the modern instruction of German as a foreign language from various practical aspects. Special emphasis is placed on important didactic-methodological principles, work and social forms, teaching and learning strategies, development of competencies and use of the media, which are important for the planning, organization and preparation of lessons. Appropriate teaching examples, tips and ideas are offered, which are the result of the author's own professional experience.
