Summary/Abstract: The object of olfactronics is a detailed instrumental analysis of odour, where the important step of any analysis of scent is its collection. Compared to common contact collection of human scent, the advantage of contactless scent sampling is the reduction or even elimination of contamination of other evidence that can be found on a crime scene. The concept of the portable device for contactless scent collection proceeds from a commercial vacuum cleaner. All the additional parts were made by means of a 3D printer. During the optimization of scent collection by the developed device, the following parameters were applied: the number of sorbent layers, the volume flow of air passing through a sorbent, and the distance of the sorbent from the scent sample on the sampled surface. The effect of the thermal excitation of scent molecules by infrared radiation was examined as well. The results were evaluated by means of the occurrence of the three standards from a model mixture in collected samples – Pentadecane, 1-Chlorotetradecane, and N,N-Dimethyldodecylamine.
