Summary/Abstract: The lawsuit Francisc David was involved in (June 1-3, 1579, Alba-Iulia) was an event of a prime importance in the Principality, both a point of using a new angle on religious politics inside the Principality, and on the history of anti-Trinitarian fight in Transylvania. As the aim of such a lawsuit consisted in punishing Francisc David, in a public lawsuit, for being an innovator and an impious person, we might bring forward the question if such a lawsuit could have been a political one. The pro- reasons (the lawsuit large publicity with the participation of priests of other confessions, its didactic intension), and the anti-ones (the final sentence came in fact following an unexpected turn in the lawsuit progressing) make us conclude that we might rather speak about an attempt of a political lawsuit.
