Markers of Disagreement in Colloquial Spanish

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to present and describe the conversational markers related to the act of disagreement in colloquial Spanish. After a brief overview of the different definitions of the act of disagreement, our own definition and typology based on the analysis of corpora of colloquial Spanish is proposed. The recognition of the characteristics of the act in question enables the study of disagreement markers, i.e. expressions that introduce, intensify or mitigate interventions that demonstrate discrepancies between interlocutors. The aim of this paper is to show some uses, functions and particularities of the markers found in transcriptions of oral corpora in Spanish.
