Summary/Abstract: Tihomir Djordjević has tried to reconcile the folk things and those ones which come from contemporary Europe by continuing the ideas of Vuk Karadžić, and there fore he points out "the crossroad" where Serbian people found themselves at the very beginning of the 20th century. He points out that the crossroad of two cultures is presented as the fight for the supremacy of folk culture or exterior culture. Folk culture is presented in folk poetry, and the exterior culture is the product of Europe. Moving away from the old culture produced the continuation of special knowledge system about folk people – folklore. Mr. Djordjević also points out the ethical and political importance of folklore. The ethical importance is reflected in priceless folklore value for the upbringing of the youth. The political importance is only upgrading of the ethical.
