Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to analyse how selected media actors from the United States are portrayed on Polish gossip websites and how local gossip broadcasters “translate” media images of American celebrities. Based on the content analysis of the gossip news on Melania Trump – a celebrity with assigned status, Taylor Swift – a celebrity with gained status, and Kylie Jenner – a celebrity with status conferred by media, which were published in 2020 on the three leading Polish gossip websites (Pudelek.pl, Plotek.pl, Gwiazd.wp.pl; N=171) and on their American counterpart – TMZ.com (N=73), it was found that the Polish gossip broadcasters sustain the global media images of the United States celebrities, which may be a manifestation of information recycling.
