Summary/Abstract: Ruda Pabianicka functioned as a town only for 16 years, namely in the years 1923–1939. During this relatively short period, the city authorities and its inhabitants tried to develop their own traditions, including the celebration of national holidays. These celebrations included both religious ceremonies, both in the Catholic and Evangelical churches, as well as cultural celebrations, i.e. performances, film screenings, concerts, and sports events. The aforementioned activities were also aimed at building the city’s identity and arousing local patriotism.
