Summary/Abstract: World food price surge between 2006–2011 is seen as the main reason why the number of undernourishment has stayed on a relatively high level. The highest increase was identified on the cereals market (especially between 2010–2011). This development also influenced household budgets in countries which depend on the imports of these goods. The main goal of the paper is to present dominant tendencies in the international cereals trade between 2006–2011. The author took a closer look on the group of Low-Income Food-Deficit Countries.
