Technological advancement of Polish exports in the first decade of the 21st century

Summary/Abstract: The paper addresses the issue of technological advancement of Polish exports in the years 2001-2011. The author attempted an analysis aimed at how this feature had been evolving by making use of international trade data at 4-digit of desaggregation level of the Harmonised System and then by grouping respective sections according to the UNCTAD’s methodology and classification. In the main part of the paper the author identified directions of exports specialisation of the Polish economy and sections with the highest revealed comparative advantages. It made possible to formulate conclusions referring to the likely reasons of this development of the situation and potential threats.
