Summary/Abstract: Our study refers to the north of the Lower Danube in the first millennium of the Christian era. It is based mainly on the literary sources of that era. This is the end of the ancient and early Middle Ages. The first idea referred to the attitude of the emperors in the Roman Empire to the new religion at the end of the ancient age. We can also say that through the 5th century, Christianity has become generalized in this area. I presented the situation of North-Danubian Christians during the various persecutions. The last of the persecutions to the north of the Danube was in the 8th of the 4th century during the Goths, and since then probably the most famous martyr was St. Sava. I presented the problems of Christians in the south of the Danube near the river. There is written evidence about martyrs, and the most important is Acta Sanctorum. The same can be said of the Sinaxar of the Church of Constantinople, as well as of various authors. Among these writers of various writings can be listed also the natives near the Danube. Thus Bishop Teotim also asserted that he had written, then Wulfila the one who translated the Bible. His Auxentius official in Durostorum wrote the Writer about Wulfila's faith, life and death. Many of them were sanctified. Archaeological discoveries have brought a lot of evidence to the spirits of our affections. Even though in the 5th century Christianity grew generalized, not all the population had gone to the new religion. In a larger space, our study presented the martyrs of this period. In addition to the beginnings of the Middle Ages, the territory we describe has gone through severe attempts due to migratory populations. For this reason, the new religion also experienced moments of rebounding to full victory and the formation of Christian medieval states.
