Summary/Abstract: The paper expands upon the influential scientist and mathematician, Jules Henri Poincaré`s theory, with soft touches upon literary texts. One of the most well-known theories that Poincaré has elaborated is that of relativity. Poincaré is also the philosopher who discovered a chaotic deterministic system. Our concern will be to underline the basic issues related to the fact that Poincaré discovered that the evolution of this kind of system is chaotic, which means that even a small perturbation in the initial state , for example a change in the initial position, could produce another later state which would be generated by the unperturbed system. The final state which would occur could not be predicted unless the change is detectable. This is the manner in which Poincarés research demonstrated that determinism and predictibility are two distinct issues. The systems are applied to different fields, such as weather, population dynamics or the structure of life.
